This isn’t just another instructor course. It’s a year-long development program where you’ll train alongside experienced professionals, sharpen your instructional skills, receive monthly evaluations, and develop the confidence to lead on the range.

Candidates who are not currently certified through a nationally recognized organization and successfully complete the apprenticeship, including all required evaluations and state-mandated requirements, will be eligible to apply for a Maryland State Police Qualified Handgun Instructor License (QHIL).
